You can make miracles happen.

Giving

Miracles happen everyday, but they don't happen without the generosity of people. By making a gift to The Nebraska Medical Center, you can be a part of a miracle. Your gift, whatever the amount, will help strengthen and build the programs that allow The Nebraska Medical Center to provide the latest treatments with cutting edge technology matched with the extraordinary care of our doctors, nurses and other talented healthcare professionals.

We Invite you to join Legacies of Kindness

Legacies of Kindness recognizes those who have made a planned gift to ensure the future of quality healthcare in this region. As a member of Legacies of Kindness, you are offered special recognition opportunities and, in many cases, are eligible to sponsor, establish, or name something of significance to you and your family.

Some examples include:
  • Buildings
  • Spaces and rooms in buildings
  • Clinical Chairs
  • Programs
  • Endowments, named for you or your family
Have you established a legacy?

Most of us hope we have lived in a way that matters. We’d like to offer you the opportunity to solidify your legacy to ensure that your life’s work and personal values will be remembered as you wish them to be, not only through your heirs, but also through support of your favorite charitable organizations.

Legacies of Kindness has retained the services of a charitable estate planning firm, Thompson & Associates, to work with our closest donors and friends in the creation of a special kind of estate plan, one that can include gifts to your favorite charities as an integral part of your plan.

We invite you to take advantage of this service.

It’s a free, confidential, and no obligation opportunity to explore how adding charitable planning techniques in your estate plan can actually leave more to your heirs while reducing the amount of taxes you (and they) pay. After consultation with Thompson & Associates, you will visit with your own trusted advisors for implementation.

Please contact us to discuss your interest in an introductory visit with Thompson & Associates. We sincerely look forward to your participation and invite you to call us to reserve a time.

Why is Legacies of Kindness offering me this opportunity?

We believe that providing estate planning services to our donors and friends creates a win-win situation for all of you, your heirs and your favorite charities.

Will I be asked to make a gift to the Legacies of Kindness?

No. You will never be asked for a gift and your visits with Thompson & Associates are completely confidential.

Who are Thompson & Associates?

They are knowledgeable, experienced, dedicated, nationally recognized leaders in this field. They are specialists in maximizing gifts to heirs and minimizing taxes paid. They do not sell anything and are hired to plan your estate with your best interests in mind. If you decide that it is advantageous to you and your heirs to add a charitable provision to your plan, we hope you will consider us one of your favorite charities.

I’ve already had an estate plan done. Why should I do this, too?

Consider this service a complimentary “second-opinion” from an independent third party with no products to sell you. Thompson & Associates creates a plan only after assessing your unique values and goals surrounding the legacy you hope to leave with your estate. If you are not sure if you have fully reduced your tax liability or maximized amounts for your heirs, this process will help you.

My estate is average so I won’t owe any estate taxes.

Many who have no worries about estate taxes are shocked to discover their estate could be hard-hit with other transfer taxes. Through this process, they will help you discover what you have to live on for the rest of your life, and how you would like your remaining assets, such as real estate, distributed.

Most of my money is in IRAs, so that probably doesn’t affect me.

Actually, people who have accumulated comfortable amounts in their retirement accounts are at risk for substantial shrinkage (50 to 70 percent) if they do not establish a plan designed to maximize the distribution of their legacy assets.

What can I expect if I participate?

Upon choosing to take advantage of this process, we will arrange a time for you to have an initial, confidential meeting with Thompson & Associates to hear what they can offer you by way of estate planning advice. If you choose to move forward in exploring possibilities for your estate, you may attend additional sessions and involve your own trusted advisors to implement the plan.
